Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp greek yogurt
  • 2 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a microwave-safe mug (about 12 oz capacity).
  2. Ensure no lumps remain and any cocoa powder clumps are broken up.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the milk, greek yogurt, maple syrup, peanut butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk until completely smooth and the peanut butter is fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the wet mixture into the mug with the dry ingredients.
  6. Stir vigorously until you have a smooth batter with no lumps.
  7. Scrape the bottom and sides of the mug to ensure all dry ingredients are moistened.
  8. Fold the chocolate chips gently into the batter, distributing them evenly.
  9. Place the mug in the microwave.
  10. Microwave on high for 90 seconds.
  11. Carefully remove the hot mug from the microwave.
  12. Let the cake cool in the mug for 3 minutes.
  13. Serve warm directly from the mug.

Notes

Use a 12 oz mug to prevent overflow.
Whisk dry ingredients thoroughly to avoid lumps.
Don’t overmix the batter once wet and dry are combined.
Allow the cake to cool for 3 minutes for the best texture.
