Indulge in safe-to-eat cookie dough with this easy recipe, perfect for satisfying your sweet cravings without any baking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (120 grams)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar light or dark
  • ½ cup butter salted or unsalted, softened
  • 2-4 tbsp milk more or less as needed
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch salt (omit if using salted butter)
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Heat treat the flour: Microwave the flour in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until it reaches 165°F (about 40-60 seconds total). Alternatively, spread the flour on a baking sheet and bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Whisk or sift the heat-treated flour to remove any lumps.
  3. Allow the heat-treated flour to cool completely.
  4. In a large bowl, using a stand mixer or a handheld mixer, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  5. Add the cooled, heat-treated flour, vanilla extract, and salt to the creamed butter and sugar mixture.
  6. Mix until just combined.
  7. Gradually add the milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing after each addition, until the desired cookie dough consistency is reached.
  8. Gently fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula or spoon.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Always heat treat your flour to 165°F for food safety.
Ensure butter is softened, not melted, for the best texture.
Add milk gradually to achieve your preferred dough consistency.
For extra flavor, use a high-quality vanilla extract.
